Snugpak Softie 18 Antartica Sleeping Bag is an extreme cold weather temperature sleeping bag and has a center zipper design for quick release and fast exit. The SOFTIE insulation has 30% more loft which has the same features as natural down and the way it performs, extremely lightweight, excellant re-loft abilities when unpacked, very compressible. The Antartica has a PERTEX SHIELD nylon shell which has a water repellant treatment that is 5 times more durable than the standard water repellant fabrics and it actually softens the fabrics making them more pleasant to touch and pack smaller. The nature of the application of this treatment means high breathability . The Snugpak Antartica comes with a compression stuffsack, profiled unquilted, which means a "no stich through" method of construction, snug fit hood, zipper baffle, circle reinforced feet, hanging dry tabs, and a anti-snag two way zip construction.
